St. William the Abbot Students Learn About the Value of Life

The Adopt A Baby Spiritual Adoption program at St. William teaches the students a valuable lesson about life. The program has 3 main goals:

1. To pray for unborn babies in danger of abortion

2. To educate people about the baby's development before birth in order to restore the Culture of Life in people's Hearts and minds.

3. To provide badly needed help to pregnant mothers in need.

The eighth grade students of St. William the Abbot School at the beginning of the year adopt a spiritual baby. Each student names their baby so they realize they are praying for a real and specific child. Each day at the beginning of Religion class the students pray for their baby. As we all know there are millions of unborn babies desperately in need of prayers.

Each month students are informed how the child is developing through "Little Ones" posters that are displayed in the classrooms. At this time the students also receive a thank you card from the baby for praying for him/her and a message saying how the child is growing and changing.

On June 7, the students celebrated the birth of their spiritual baby. They had a baby shower and brought in many beautiful, useful gifts which were donated to Sr. Margaret's Parish Outreach Program of St. William the Abbot.

This program gives a positive message out to the students about life and the great gift it is to us and to everyone. This is an opportunity to help students to look at the pro-life movement in a positive way.
