Senior Health Day events
Flu shot reservations accepted hrough October 24th

Senator Kemp Hannon (R-6th S.D.)reminds the communityhis 6th Annual Senior Health & Awareness Day is Thursday, October 25, 2007 , 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the David S. Mack Sports Complex at Hofstra University, Earl Ovington Blvd., Uniondale. Activities include senior health information, various health screenings, flu shots andinformation on senior programs such as elder care and long term healthcare insurance will be available on site.

Senior Citizen Flu Vaccination Program

Flu shots will be dispensed in cooperation with Nassau University Medical Center, Nassau County Department of Senior Citizen Affairs and New Island Hospital. There is no out-of-pocket expense to seniors. Nassau County reserves the right to cancel or amend this program depending on vaccine availability.

Influenza immunizations are being offered to senior citizens age 60 and over and to the spouses of senior citizens. Pneumonia vaccines are being offered to persons 65 and older. Seniorsneed to bring a Medicare card or insurance card IF enrolled in such programs.

Reservations are necessary and can be made on Tuesdays and Wednesdays through October 24th, by calling Hannon's office at 516-739- 1700 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
