Massapequa Chaos wins Whitewater Cup
Jimmy Golaszewski led the scoring off with two great goals. After that the Chaos came to life smothering the Waterbury team, the defense of Thomas Kiernan, Andrew Marsh and Chris Wood shutout their opponent. With the defense at full strength, Nick Zwilling and Joe Arceri were able to find the back of the net as well. The final goal was scored by Matt Eicher that sealed a 5-0 win. In the second game the Chaos faced a top team from Centreville, Va. Quickly down 2-0 the Chaos continued to fight with a great effort from Nick Leelum and Ryan Dashkoff. Both were asked to play several positions and came through the entire tournament. Billy Fox tried to get the offense going but with some unlucky calls, the Chaos fell 3-0.
In the third place game the Chaos were ready to take on the Mountain Top, PA club that did not want the visiting New York club to take home a third place medal. But the Massapequa boys were already dominating right from the start. Matt Eicher led off the scoring, which had all the fans ready for a Massapequa victory. Billy Fox made sure there 0 was more scoring with two great assists to Danny Sweeney and Conor Hehir. The Massapequa Chaos won 3-1 for a third place finish. It was a true team effort, without a full squad most of the boys had to play different positions, said the coaches. It the true spirit of team the coaching staff would like to congratulate them on the efforts.
