•On Thursday, November 1, 7 p.m. professional organizer Judi Cohen will offer a program on Time Management. •Registration is underway for a bus trip to the Al Hirschfeld Theater to see the Broadway show, Curtains, Wednesday, November 7, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The fee is $157 per person. Lunch will take place at Vita's on 46th Street. •On Thursday October 25, 7:30 p.m. and Friday, October 26, 1:30 p.m., the movie The Hoax with Richard Gere and Hope Davis will be shown. Doors open one half hour in advance. •Poet Yolanda Coulaz will host a ready by Dr. Linda Opyr and Maxwell Wheat on Saturday, October 27, 2 p.m. Dr. Opyr is the author of five collections of poetry, is an adjunct professor at Nassau Community College and chairs the English Department at Sewanhaka High School. Wheat is Nassau County's first poet laureate and the recipient of the Long Island Poet Award of the Walt Whitman Birthplace Association. •A Halloween Storybook Carnival will be held Saturday, October 27, 10 to 11:30 a.m. for all ages with a parent. There will be games, face painting, tattoos and treats. •Dean Karahalis and the New York Brass Choir will perform Sunday, October 28, 2 p.m. •The movie Gilda will be shown Monday, October 29, 2 p.m. •On Monday, October 29,, 7:30 p.m. Christopher M. Petillo, an attorney with the elder law firm of Vincent J. Russo and Associates, P.C. will discuss the latest elder law issues. •Artist Emelia Behr will present a lecture on the art of Monet, Tuesday, October 30, 12:30 p.m. You will create a piece of art that is similar to his at the end of the lecture. The fee is $5. Registration is underway.
•Spider-Man 3 will be shown Tuesday, October 30, 6:30 p.m. for all ages with a parent. Tickets are not available. •There is still room to join in yoga classes given by Registered Yoga Teacher Edith Jason, Monday mornings, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. through November 12. Dress comfortably and bring a tapas sticky mat, exercise mat or thick blanket and a small throw pillow. The fee of $64 for eight session will be prorated. •The movie The Hoax will be shown Thursday, October 25, 7:30 p.m. and Friday, October 26, 1:30 p.m. Doors open one half hours in advance.
