Regina Drake: Copiague, Massapequa teacher Longtime educator Regina Drake, who taught English in the Copiague and Smithtown High Schools in the 1960s, 70s and 80s, died September 29, 2007 at her Massapequa home of Alzheimer's. She was 82-years old and had lived in Massapequa for 55 years. Born Regina McKenna during 1925 in New York City and raised in Ozone Park, Queens, after graduating Hofstra she started her teaching career in Niles West High School in Chicago. According to her husband, Kenneth, prior to Copiague, she worked for a short time for the Massapequa School District. After her 1987 retirement, she taught poetry for Elderhostel, a non profit travel organization and spent time with her loved ones. Mrs. Drake leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Kenneth of Massapequa; her son, Ken Jr.; her grandchildren: John Corcoran of San Diego, California and Julie Corcoran of New York, New York; her great grandchildren: Katie and Charles of San Diego, California. A private service was held by her family.
