Troop 660 Project honors 9/11 victims

Local residents and riders of city-bound LIRR trains through Massapequa Park witnessed a recent troop service project at Massapequa Park Village Hall, from September 8 through September 16, which honored the memory of each and every victim of 9/11.

On Saturday September 8, over the course of three hours, Boy Scouts from Troop 660 carefully placed 2,974 individual American flags, blanketing the lawn of Massapequa Park Village Hall. Each flag represented a victim of the 9/11 attacks.

With approval from the Village to use the lawn, and the flags supplied by local merchant Gail Klubnick, Troop 660 Scouts provided the "elbow grease" to place the flags.
