James “Slapshot” Thomson to be honored Nov. 3rd

Attention, all former Amityville football players, coaches and supporters. James "SlapShot" Thomson will be posthumously honored at half-time of the varsity football game on Saturday, November 3.

"Slapshot" dedicated more than 30 years of his life to the football program in Amityville. Unfortunately, a stroke took his life on March 26, 2007. He will be remembered as a dedicated volunteer to the football program where he assumed all the intangible chores to make the program the success it is.

This will be the last home league game of the year against Port Jefferson High School. Game time is 2 p.m.
