Macagnone proposal to keepy jobs in O'Bay

Oyster Bay Town Councilman Anthony D. Macagnone announced two proposals that will help legitimate employers, landscapers and developers keep good paying jobs in the Town of Oyster Bay.

"One of the concerns I hear from residents as I travel in the Town is how can the Town help legitimate employers compete with those who are hiring undocumented workers in an attempt to undercut the system ," Councilman Macagnone is asking that the Commissioner of the Department of Planning & Development be directed to establish guidelines by which any business that requires a permit from the Town and wrongly classifies workers as independent contractors to skirt wage and tax laws have their permits revoked and not be permitted to operate in the Town of Oyster Bay for a period of one (1) year,"
