Jay Price: Phannemiller's Pharmacy proprietor North Massapequa's Jay Price, who ran Phannemiller's Pharmacy on Broadway in Amityville for more than 30 years, died October 15, 2007 after a long battle with cancer and CIDP, a neurological disease. He was 76 years old. Born in Brooklyn and raised in West Hampton, he moved to North Massapequa in 1960 and lived there for 47 years. For several years he served as a lab technician in the U. S. Army and then ran Phannemiller's Pharmacy from 1960 to 1994, when its doors closed. Until 2005 he worked as a pharmacist in West Babylon's King Kullen. According to his wife of 51 years, Lillian, he was an avid amateur photographer who also built and flew his own model airplanes at Cedar Creek Park in Seaford. Mr. Price also leaves behind his children: Laura and Mike Capitano, Ellen and Bruce Follett and Barbara and Kenny Ossenfort; his grandchildren: Katie, Matthew, Meagan, Jimmy, Michelle, Joanna, Kerri, Christopher and Timothy; his brother Evan and his wife Janet; and other family members. He reposed at the James Funeral Home, Massapequa, on October 17, 18 and 19, 2007. Interment followed in Pinelawn Cemetery.
