'Pequan Louis Percella, Army Veteran
Born and raised in Brooklyn, he lived in Uniondale for many years before relocating to Massapequa in 2001. In 1998 he retired after driving a Wall Street Journal delivery truck in New York City for 50 years. For two years in the 1950s he served as a cook in the Tank Corps of the Army. According to his wife Rosemary, he loved to garden, play softball for his team in the Senior League, the Generals, in and spend time with his family. Mr. Percella leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Rosemary; his children: Jeanne Mistretta and her husband Paul, Susan Hamel and her husband Larry and Angela Percella and her husband Joe DeRosa and Joseph; his grandchildren: Paul, Vincent, Jeannette, Sophia, Anthony, Michael and Joseph; and his brother, Dominic. He reposed at the Massapequa Funeral Home, South Chapel, Massapequa on October 13 & 14, 2007. A Funeral Mass was held October 15, 2007 at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Massapequa followed by entombment in St. Charles Cemetery.
