•Both locations of the Library will be closed Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22. The Library will close 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21.

•On Wednesday, Nov. 28, 7:30 p.m. at the Harbor Lane Library,The Great South Bay Forum on Public Affairs will present a program entitled The U.S. Military/Diplomatic Crisis in Iraq and Iran. Speakers include Scott Ritter, former Marine Corps officer and Chief Inspector for the International Energy Commission via DVD on possible war with Iran; Marty Melkonian, economics professor at Hofstra University, professor of Interdisciplinary Course on War and Peace and Bill McNulty, wellknown Long Island peace activist, radio commentator, builder and former teacher. There will be ample time for discussion. Admission is free and refreshments will be served. For information, call 799-4088 or 795-1085.

•The Library is offering a trip to Matterhorn Gardens, Spring Valley, New York to see the holiday display , shopping and buffet lunch, Monday, Dec. 3, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. On the way back a stop will be made at Woodbury Common Outlets. The fee is $69. Registration is ongoing until the bus fills.

•Senior connections has revised its going scheduled hour of operations. The new hours are Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to noon and Wednesdays, 1 to 3 p.m. On Tuesday mornings Senior Connections will meet and operate in the room next to the Reference Desk. On Wednesday afternoons, Senior Connections will meet and operate in the gallery in the lobby in the lower level.

•On Sunday, Nov. 25, 2 p.m. Town meets Country when the Gold Coast Rhythm Boys, Billy Martin and Charlie Pappas, entertain with the hits of yesterday and today. All are welcome.

•On Monday, Nov. 26, 7:30 p.m. Ellen Poulsen, author of Don't Call Us Molls, will present a slide show lecture on the colorful figures of the 1930s Midwest Crime Wave. Registration is underway.

• A bus trip has been planned for Thursday, Dec. 6, 9 a.m. First the bus goes to Huntington Village, then to Gold Coast Mansion - Coindre Hall, then on to Stony Brook Village. You will have a light tea lunch and a theatrical musical production depicting the life and career of the Broadway favorite Ethel Merman. The final stop will be at the Long Island Museum of American Art, History and Carriages. The day is ended with A Sweet Taste of LI. The approximate return time is 6:30 p.m.

•Registered yoga teacher Edith Jason, R.Y.T. will be offering yoga Mondays through Jan. 21, 2008, for eight sessions, 10 to 11:30 a.m. There are no sessions on Christmas and New Year's Eve. Firm, tone and strengthen your body while reducing stress. Beginners are always welcome. Registration is underway.
