NAACP to celebrate anniversary Dec. 13 The Central Long Island National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (N.A.A.C.P) Branch will celebrate its 61st anniversary of the founding of the branch on Thursday, Dec. 13, 7 p.m. during its Branch Anniversary and Freedom Fund Program. The program will be held at the Hollywood Baptist Church Cathedral, 3504 Great Neck Rd., Amityville, where Bishop Andy C. Lewter, Jr. is the pastor. The guest speaker for the occasion will be the Honorable Hazel N. Dukes - president , New York State Conference of N.A.A.C.P. Branches. Among the highlights of the program will be the presentation of Life Membership Awards to several community residents. Life Membership Awards signify dedication and commitment to the goals and objectives of the National N.A.A.C.P.
The Central Long Island N.A.A.C.P. Branch is the oldest N.A.A.C.P. branch in Suffolk County.
