Leon Benjamin Fisher: salesman at Amity Nissan in Massapequa

Lifelong Amityville resident Leon Benjamin Fisher, a successful car salesman in Massapequa, died October 28, 2007 after a long illness at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was 55 years old and will be remembered as a loving father, son, brother, grandfather, cousin, uncle and friend.

Born September 28, 1952 to Benjamin and Mary Fisher, he was a graduate of Amityville High School and New Hampshire University. For more than 25 years he worked at Amity Nissan in Massapequa.

"He was the nicest guy with a permanent smile. He was very patient and everyone here loved him," said Michael Sealys, who was trained by and worked with Mr. Fisher for 14 years.

He leaves behind his wife, Rosyln McConico; his children: Rodney Alan, Tyrne Benjamin and Gabrielle; his brother, Alan Fisher; his mother Mary (Jeannie); his grandchildren: Rason Diane and Kayla Lynee; his ex-wife Sharon Tempro; and a host of family and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Benjamin.

A Funeral Service was held on November 5, 2007 at Grace Community Church, Amityville officiated by the Rev. Robert L. Burgess. Interment followed in L.I National Cemetery at Pinelawn. Arrangements under the direction of the Joseph Slinger-Haskell Funeral Home, Amityville.
