Farmingdale NYSSMA Performers
Several Farmingdale High School students were selected for the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) All State December conference in Rochester. Students were chosen based on their performance at the NYSSMA solo festival in May 2007. Jenna Witterman, clarinet; Alexandra Maldonado, trombone; Brittany Tuzzolo, oboe; Jessie Farrell, vocal jazz- soprano; Elora Rosch, vocal jazz- soprano and Matt Mannix, mixed chorus-tenor, alternate were chosen for this prestigious honor.
Students had to perform a NYSSMA Level VI piece of music for scoring. Scoring was based upon scales, sight reading, the handling of intonation, musical dynamics and other musical concepts. The Farmingdale Music Department is proud of these students and their teachers, Michelle Lindsley and Gina Pelletierre for this wonderful accomplishment.
