MHS nursery school program

Massapequa's High School's family and consumer science department, in conjunction with its child study course, will once again sponsor a nursery school program for district residents.

The high school students enrolled in the course have successfully completed the Parenting and Child Development Course and are now ready for a hands-on approach to learning. The students will plan, prepare, and implement activities for the nursery school students.

Nursery school will begin the first week of March and continue for approximately 11 to 12 weeks, to "graduation." There are two sessions: Tuesday and Thursday or Wednesday and Friday, each from 9:55 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Children must attend both days of the session chosen. A donation of $70 per child to help defray expenses is encouraged.

To be eligible, children must be between the ages of three (as of March 3, 2008) and five (not attending kindergarten) and toilet trained. Applications will be available in the general office of Massapequa High School through December 21, and can be picked up between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Applications may also be downloaded from Massapequa School District Web Site using the link for the Child Study Application (www.msd.k12.ny.us). Hard copies of completed applications must be returned to the general office at Massapequa High School by Wednesday, January 2, 2008. Acceptance notifications will be emailed by February 8, 2008.

Please direct any questions in writing to Anna Gregg, Director, FACS Department, at Massapequa High School, 4925 Merrick Rd., Massapequa, NY 11758.
