Jerome Fuchs: 'Pequan' professor, business executive Successful businessman, college professor, author and loving family man Jerome H. Fuchs, a former Massapequa resident, died October 28, 2007. He was 85 years old and had lived in homes in Bar Harbour and Biltmore Shores for more than 35 years before moving to East Meadow in 1993. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and went on to teach as a professor at Hofstra University for 13 years before his retirement in 2000. He was also an adjunct professor at Syracuse University, John Hopkins University, Drexel University, Queens College and SUNY Stonybrook. From 1960 to 2000, he was president of Fuchs Associates, a management consulting firm in East Meadow, and has been listed in the Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in Finance & Industry and in Contemporary Authors. Mr. Fuchs has authored many books such as, Making the Most of Management Consulting Services and the Prentice Hall Illustrated Handbook of Advanced Manufacturing Methods. Mr. Fuchs was a charter member of the Society of Professional Management Consultants and founding member of the Institute of Management Consultant. Although he worked very hard and was busy, his family said they will always remember the great amount of quality time spent together on the beach at the Biltmore Beach Club. Mr. Fuchs leaved behind his wife, Elea (nee Deroo); his children: Jerome S. Taylor and his wife Chris, Susan Decker and her husband John, and Sandy Lombino; his sisters: Gloria Stern and Shirley Toorans; his grandchildren: Jason Taylor and his wife Kate Finnefrock, Kristy Kowalski and her husband Martin, Ashley Taylor, Nicole Lombino, Joe Lombino, Steven Decker and his wife Melissa and Jennifer Lumbra and her husband Casey. He was predeceased by his son in law, Thomas Lombino. He reposed at the Charles G. Schmitt Funeral Home, Seaford. A graveside service was held October 31, 2007 at Grace Church in Massapequa.
