New York State PTA holds annual convention
New York State PTA's 111th Annual Convention was held this year at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany on November 16th -18th. Six hundred delegates from around the state participated by voting, adopting resolutions and attending training and workshops. On hand to address the delegates was National PTA President Jan Harp Domene, Richard P. Mills, Commissioner of the NY Education Department, as well as Stuart Levine, motivational speaker, leadership consultant and best-selling author. Delegates and officers representing our district's elementary and secondary schools, as well as SEPTA, attended workshops on many topics related to education, parent involvement and health and safety and voted on resolutions that will affect our children's futures.
