Nassau County Police conducting blood drive and National Bone Marrow Registry Nassau County Police Commissioner Lawrence W. Mulvey is asking residents to give back this holiday season by donating blood at the Nassau County Police Academy Blood Drive. The blood drive is being held in conjunction with Long Island Blood Services on Fri., Dec. 28, 4 to 8 p.m. at the Police Academy, 200 Second Ave., Massapequa Park.
In addition to blood donations, residents will be able to sign up for the National Bone Marrow Registry and cholesterol testing will be available. Cholesterol test results will be mailed home. In order to be eligible for blood donation you must have valid identification, know your Social Security number, must be a minimum of 110 pounds and must between 16 and 76 years of age. Individuals who have had tattoos within the past 12 months are ineligible for blood donation.
