Help for those looking for ways to support troops

Several of our readers have called regarding a letter that appeared in the Nov. 28 edition asking them to remember the injured soldiers by sending holiday cards to them at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Following publication of that letter we learned that this address did not accept mail in the name of "a recovering American soldier." Some of the cards and letters were returned, others apparently went through.

We apologize for this and would suggest that anyone seeking to find ways to support our troops and let them know their sacrafices are appreciated should contact their local veterans organization or go to www.reconnectamerica.com. There are many suggestions on that website.
