2008 MHS Hall of Fame nominees selected; committee sets date for annual Golf Tourny
Nine alumni and four staff and community members have been inducted into the Massapequa High School 2008 Hall of Fame. The organization also set its annual golf outing for August, an event that helps raise money to fund local scholarships and other school-related projects.
This year's inductees include: John Ames a 1966 MHS graduate and president of IPC Inc. in Virginia Beach; Dorothy Meyers, BHS class of 1973 and administrator of the School of Education at the University of Massachusetts; Marianne Millnomow, MHS class of 1978 and owner of CF Rutherford Financial Office Design in Manhattan; Linda (Cressy) Pfeffer, MHS class of 1962 and president and founder of Aerobic & Fitness Association in Los Angeles; Thomas Wagner, MHS class of 1985, program director of Antarctic Geology, National Science Foundation; Michael Watt, MHS class of 1978, executive director of the Long Island Partnership; Albert Wilkening, MHS class of 1963, Major General, Wisconsion Army/Air Force National Guard; Susan Zwanger-Mendolsohn, MHS class of 1974, physican and co-owner of Zwanger Pirisi Radiology Laboratories and Joe Saladino, MHS class of 1979, New York State Assemblyman.
Also inducted are Pauline Koller, retired vice principal from Massapequa; Lillian and Gene Bryson of the Massapequa Historical Society and Jamie Bogenshutz, director, YES Community Counseling Center.
The organization also named its slate of officers for 2008: Michael Hanna, president; Linda Hoffman, vice president; Robert Storti, treasurer; Linda Hanna, secretary and Herbert J. Pluschau, financial secretary.
