•Both locations of the Massapequa Public Library will be closed Easter Sunday, March 23.
For the month of March, paintings and sketches by the students of Gloria Glick will be on display in the Downstairs Gallery of the Harbor Lane Library.
•A Notary Public is available by appointment only at both locations of the Massapequa Public Library.
•Senior Connections Information and Referral Service will be at the Central Avenue Library, Mondays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to noon and at the Bar Harbor Library, Monday and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to noon. For information call 798-4607, extension 322.
•The Harbor Lane Library, together with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 13-12, will present a Basic Boating and Seamanship Course, Sat. March 22, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is a materials fee of $50. Sign up by calling 797-1840.
•On Wed. March 26, 10:30 a.m., financial advisor Tom Raad will offer a seminar on How to Protect Your Principal and Increase Your Income Through Tax-Free Investing Strategies at the Harbor Lane Library. Light refreshments will be served.
•The Library will soon be offering to the community participation in a program entitling them to free entrance to the following museums: Long Island Children's Museum, American Museum of Natural History, Guggenheim Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art and Old Westbury Gardens. •On Thurs. March 20,. 7:30 p.m. gardening expert Maria Cinque will offer a program in having a beautiful garden with annual and perennial flowering plants to enjoy indoors or outdoors. Registration is underway.
•On Sat. March 22, 2 p.m. a program on Walt Disney's Enchanted will be offered for all ages and a parent. Wear prince or princess attire and make a royal crown prior to watching the movie. Tickets are available.
•On Mon. March 24, 7:30 p.m. learn the art of Hatha Yoga with Eileen Lichtenstein. The fee is $12 payable by check to the Farmingdale Public Library.
•Tai Chi with Suzanne Ernst will be offered Tues. March 25, 11 a.m. The fee is $10 per person.
•On Wed. March 26, 7:30 p.m. a program on the art of decluttering will be given by professional organizer Donna Jaroslawski. Registration is underway.

•On Tues. March 25, 7 to 8:30 p.m. a lecture/workshop entitled Drawing - The Foundation of Classic Art in Painting and Sculpture. All drawing materials will be supplied.

•The library's large showcase will feature an exhibit of handicrafts from Africa including fabrics, woodwork and straw weaving. The items were featured in the Natural History Magazine circa 1950.
•A collection of Valentine's Day cards is on display in the small showcase. Left to the Library by its first director, Helen Badger, who served from 1915 to 1934, this exhibit includes ornate and intricate cards that are far removed from modern greeting cards.
