      Two weeks ago, a group of youngsters were going door to door along Park Boulevard and asking shoppers there to sign a petition. This group was pleading their case admirably to each passerby, and we stopped to see what they were up to.

New recycling law for plastic bags in Suffolk should get notice by Nassau lawmakers
      DearEditor: Although I applaud any recycling effort, this law is just another lukewarm measure that does not seriously address the environmental and economic concerns caused by the continued manufacture and use of plastic bags (not to mention the moral/ethical issues as it relates to the global community and our use of petroleum).
