Marion Krause Walker Marion Krause Walker A memorial service will be held April 6 for Marion Krause Walker, the loving mother of Amityville resident Kenneth Walker, a former Amityville School board member and a member of Amityville Kiwanis.Mrs. Walker died March 21, 2008 of natural causes at the Our Lady of Consolation Nursing Home in West Islip at the age of 94.

Born September 20, 1913 in Far Rockaway, Queens she graduated from Lawrence High School in 1931. She grew up in the Five Towns area and spent her career as a dental assistant working for Stanley Platt, DDS in Cedarhurst. For more than 18 years, she lived on Beach Road in Massapequa. She and her husband Herbert retired to Sarasota, Florida in the 1970s. She had lived in West Islip for the past six years.

According to her family, she was an avid skier, sailor and reader who formed many long lasting friendships with people on Long Island. She was an active volunteer with the Friendship Center and the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Florida.

Mrs. Walker leaves behind her son, Kenneth and his wife Margot of Amityville; and her granddaughters: Lisa and Sabrina. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Herbert in 1991.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, April 6, 2008 at 3 p.m. at Powell's Funeral Home, 67 Broadway, Amityville, New York.
