REVISED NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING, BUDGET VOTE AND ELECTION OF THE MASSAPEQUA UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT TOWN OF OYSTER BAY AND NASSAU COUNTY, NEW YORK NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a Public Hearing of the qualified voters of the Massapequa Union Free School District of the Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County, New York, will be held in the Baldwin Auditorium of the Massapequa High School, 4925 Merrick Road, Massapequa, New York, in said District on Thursday, May 8, 2008, at 7:00 p.m., prevailing time, for the transaction of business as authorized by the Education Law, including the following items: 1. To elect two (2) members of the Board of Education for a three (3) year term commencing July 1, 2008 and expiring on June 30, 2011. 4. To elect one (1) member of the Library Board of Trustees for a five (5) year term commencing July 1, 2008 and expiring on June 30, 2013. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a copy of the statement of the amount of money which will be required to fund the School District's budget, and the Massapequa Public Library's budget for 2008-09, may be obtained by any resident of the District between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. beginning Friday, May 2, 2008, except Saturday, Sunday or holidays, at the District Office, 4925 Merrick Road, Massapequa, New York, at each schoolhouse in the District and at the Massapequa Public Library. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that petitions nominating candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education and member of the Library Board of Trustees shall be filed with the Clerk of said School District at her office at 4925 Merrick Road, Massapequa, New York, not later than May 13, 2008, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., prevailing time. Vacancies on the Board of Education are not considered separate, specific offices, candidates run at large. Nominating petitions shall not describe any specific vacancy upon the Board for which the candidate is nominated.
