Two All-Star players from the Massapequa Celtics make state team

Matt Malanowski and Brendan Raab, players on the The Massapequa Celtics U11 boys A soccer team, were recently named to the New York State team, a wonderful achievement according to their longtime coach, Brian Kilmeade of Massapequa.

“These boys have played with me for four seasons, and are the hardest working, most personable kids you’ll ever meet,” said Kilmeade. “They have been the rock of the team.”

Matt goes to Howlett Middle School in Farmingdale, and Matt is a student at Birch Lane School in Massapequa. They are versatile athletes, playing both offense and defense. Yet despite their obvious talents, these boys are “never cocky…and always supportive of their teammates,” said Kilmeade.

The two were key players in the all-around effort that lead the Massapequa Celtics to a perfect season in Division 1 this year.
