Women's 5K Run to be held July 19
      Applications are available and online registration is now open for the 2008 Ar­row Exterminating Company Long Island Women's 5 Kilometer Run. This will be the 25th annivesary edition of the Run, which is Long Island's only running event that is for women only, and it will be held Saturday, July 19, starting and finishing at Farmingdale High School.

St. David's offers Sign Language classesCelebrateWishing
      St. David's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 20 Clark Blvd., Massapequa Park, will be offering American Sign Language (ASL) classes for Beginner and Beginner 2 levels. Classes will be held in the church's Fellowship Hall. Beginner classes will begin July 7 and are held Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. un­til Aug. 25. This class is for individuals that know little or no ASL.

BAC Pow Wow Aug. 9-10
      The Babylon Arts Council and the Town of Babylon are presenting the 28th annual Paumanauke Pow Wow at Tanner Park in Copiague, over­looking the Great South Bay. This ritual gathering offers traditional Na­tive American dancers and drums, audience participation, native food, dance competitions, quality traders and customary crafts. MHS Class of 1958 reunion
      A 50-year reunion for the Mass­apequa High School Class of 1958 will be held on the weekend of Oct., 17 to 19. On Fri., Oct., 17 a gather­ing will be held at the Huntington Hilton and then on Sat., Oct., 18, a football game will be held at Mas­sapequa High School. More events are being planned.

Saladino supports veterans
      Assemblyman Joseph Saladino held a press conference in Albany with the New York State Council of Veterans Organizations and members of the State Legislature to call on lawmakers to enact a series of bills that would improve the quality of life for veterans and honor their service to our country.
