Slavin completes CIC courses
      Gary Slavin, a resident of Massapeuqa has completed the annual continuing education requirement of the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors. A 30-year veteran of the industry he has been a CIC since 2002 and is a Metlife Financial Services Representative of Garden City.

     The Brady Bunch, the Senior Citizen Club of Massapequa Park held its installation of officers recently. Nassau County Leg. Peter Schmitt, the Republican Leader of the Legislature, was on hand as the installing officer. Schmitt presented a special Legislative Citation to outgoing President Jeanette Silvestro for her service, proclaiming March 25 "Jeannette Silvestro Day" in Nassau County. Shown in the photo, left to right, are Assemblyman Joe Saladino, President of the Brady Bunch Seniors Hazel Grefig, Village Trustee Harry Jacobson, Past President Jeanette Silvestro and Leg. Bové ­— Ruskin engagement
      Kathy and John Bové of Massapequa and John and Pa­tricia Ruskin of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania announce the engagement of their children, Christina Bové and Brian Ruskin. Christina, a 1997 graduate of Massapequa High School, attended Cornell University, where she earned a B.S. in bi­ology in 2001 and doctor of veterinary medicine in 2006.

      The Honorable James Altadonna, mayor of the Village of Mas­sapequa Park and im­mediate past president of the Nassau County Village Officials Asso­ciation (NCVOA), was honored at the 83rd NCVOA Annual Din­ner Gala and Testimo­nial. The NCVOA rep­resents 64 incorporated villages with more than 430,000 residents.

Carolyn Michele Dooley to wed Evan Thomas O'Brien
      Mr. And Mrs. Paul Dooley and Mr. and Mrs. An­drew O'Brien, all of Massapequa, announce the en­gagement of their children, Carolyn Michele Dooley and Evan Thomas O'Brien. A June 2009 wedding is planned. Dooley, a graduate of Hofstra University, is an English teacher at The Lycee Francais de New York in New York City.

Doreen Spaguolo named to staff council at LIBOR
