      At the age of 75, Marie Spitz decided that she wanted to go back to work. She saw an ad in her local newspaper, interviewed for the position and was hired by the Amityville Record as an advertising representative.

Robert Greening, Charter Member of S. F'dale Fire Department
      Longtime South Farmingdale resident Robert Greening died July 12, 2008. He was 86 years old and had been a volunteer firefighter for 47 years. Mr. Greening served in the U.S. Navy from 1940 to 1946 and was retired from Con Edison after 38 years.

'Pequan Robert Filete, WW II Navy veteran
      Retired mechanic and former longtime Massapequa resident, Robert "Bob" E. Filete died on July 15, 2008 in Little River, South Carolina. He was 85. Born in Brooklyn to Anthony and Josephine LoBianco Filete, he enlisted in the Navy during World War II and served in Florida and Panama repairing and maintaining Naval Aircraft.
