Massapequa resident recipient of Excellence and Athletic Achievement in Tennis

Kerri Serkes, a resident of Massapequa and sophomore at SUNY New Paltz was the recipient of the 2008 State University of New York SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence and Athletic Achievement in Tennis. The Chancellor's Scholar-Athlete Award is given to a member of the first or second All-Conference Team with the highest GPA as selected by SUNY athletic directors. In addition, the

childhood education member was on the SUNAYAC All-Academic and Commissioner's List while helping the New York Hawks win back-to-back SUNYAC tennis titles and qualify for the past two spring NCAA Div. III tennis championships.
