St. David's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 20 Clark Blvd., Massapequa Park, will begin its fall American Sign language classes in September.

Beginner 1 classes will be held Mondays, 7 to 8:30 from Sept. 22 to Nov. 17 and Beginner 2 classes will be held 7 to 8:30 p.m.Wednesdays, Sept. 24 to Nov. 19. The cost for either class is $120. Classes will be held in the Church's lower level Fellowship Hall.

More than 18 years have passed since the members of St. David's recognized the need to reach out to the deaf community and create a service where the world could be understood by all. It was then that a Deaf Ministry was established and began a sign-language program during the Sunday, 9:30 a.m. worship service. The group's Christmas party has grown to more than 75 adults and children.
