Massapequa focuses on healthy eating habits

As part of the Massapequa High School Main Campus health program, the health department, under the direction of Denise Baldinger, teamed up with students in the child study program to offer a day of fun filled activities that focused on developing healthy habits for the students in the district's Nursery School Program. The high school students used their class time and a little ingenuity to plan lessons that would interest and engage the nursery school students while teaching them about "good vs. bad" food choices and the importance of daily exercise. The younger students had the opportunity to spend a designated amount of time at each station, where the high school students facilitated engaging learning activities that reinforced foods and habits that promote health and wellness.
