Spirit Week and Homecoming in Massapequa H.S. Saturday
The Massapequa High School Spirit Week and Homecoming tradition will continue this year with an array of events culminating with our annual pep rally, homecoming parade and football game on Sat., Sept. 27.
This year the Pep Rally will take place during an assembly program on Fri., Sept. 26 in the school gymnasium. On Sat., Sept. 27, the Homecoming Parade will step off from the Massapequa Park Village Hall at 12:30 p.m. The United States Marine Corps Color Guard will lead our parade through the Village, continue south on Park Blvd. and will finish at the campus of Massapequa High School. The parade will feature the marching band, Homecoming King, Queen and Court, fire engines, Marine Corps Humvee, decorated cars and golf carts, marching sports teams and clubs, community-based organizations and dignitaries. This year, the Chiefs will battle Baldwin on home turf. Kick-off time is 1:30 p.m.
The entire community is invited to join in on Saturday. It is a perfect opportunity for our students and the community to demonstrate school spirit and community pride. Come join the school band, cheerleaders, Chiefettes, and Homecoming Court during half-time activities. Graduates of Massapequa High School and Berner High School are particularly welcome.
In the event of inclement weather, access the Massapequa Public Schools Web site (www.msd.k12. ny.us) to find out if the parade and half-time ceremony have been cancelled.
