•The Harbor Lane Library offers programs on an ongoing basis including aerobics and toning classes, Mondays, 7:30 p.m.; Tournament Scrabble, Mondays, 11 a.m..; Let's Talk, a discussion group for seniors, Friday, 1 p.m.; strength training classes for seniors, Monday mornings, 10:30 a.m. and Thursdays, 10:30 a.m; Mah Jongg, Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m.; line dancing, Fridays, 10:30 a.m. and Let's Talk, a discussion group for seniors, Friday, 1 p.m. Contact the Library for details.

•The Harbor Lane Library offers space to play intergenerational chess, Fridays, 2 p.m. Registration is requested but not required. Bring your chess set if you have one. Farmingdale 116 Merritts Road 249-9090

•Registration is underway for a number of trips: On Fri. Oct. 24, 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. a bus trip to Platzle Brauhaus in Pomona will be offered with a lunch of German specialties. The cost is $68. A bus trip to see the show Jersey Boys will be held Wed., Nov. 19, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. along with lunch at Sangria on 46th Street for a total of $162. On Tues., Dec. 9, 1:30 to 9:30 p.m. a holiday night light tour will be held in New York City with an early family-style meal at Carmines at 3 p.m. Contact the Library for further details.

•Mommy and Me Movies at the Library will be offered for preschoolers, Thurs., Oct. 2, 10 a.m. Snacks will be supplied, but bring a drink.

•The movie Leatherheads will be shown Thurs., Oct. 2 7:30 p.m. and Fri., Oct. 3, 1:30 p.m. Doors open one half hour in advance.

•On Thurs., Oct. 2, 7:30 p.m. Edward Maggio will offer a program on the lore and legends of vampires.

•Teri Lamar and New Company will perform Sun., Oct 5, 2 p.m. playing music including jazz, rock and roll, Motown and R & B.
