Meyer, a 1973 graduate of Berner High School in Massapequa and the daughter of Ann and John H. Meyer was inducted into the Massapequa High School Hall of fame at a dinner reception held at the Woodlands Restaurant in the Oyster Bay Golf Course in Woodbury. There were more than 200 friends and family members of the nine graduates inducted into the Hall of Fame on Aug. 4.

Meyer was inducted for her extraordinary achievement in the field of early childhood education. During her 35 years of service to the early childhood profession, she was a faculty member at the School of Education and the director of the Early

Childhood Education Laboratory school at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. During her tenure at U Mass, Meyer taught education classes to prepare student interns for MA State public school teacher certification. She also created, directed and taught in three community preschools while living in Washington State. Meyer provides workshops and consultation to faculty in private and public schools and frequently speaks at national conferences. While on sabbatical, Meyer was invited to teach in the College of Education, Christchurch, New Zealand.

Currently, Meyer is the owner and director of the Renaissance School, a private school in Amherst, MA. The educational philosophy of the school is based upon internationally renowned Reggio Emilia's approach to teaching and learning. She and her husband Jack Mino (MHS '74) and sons Jesse and Jake, live in South Deerfield, Massachusetts.
