Longtime Lindenhurst resident Gertrude Caputo, who had worked in Massapequa, died Sept. 13, 2008 at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip. She was 83. She was born to Harry and Mary (Liskin) Fogel on Jan. 30, 1925 in Brooklyn and later dedicated herself to caring for her four children, husband and home.
