and Amityville resident Jack J. LaPorte died Sept. 26, 2008 at his Powell Court home in Amityville. He was 78. Born in Paris, France to Joseph A. and Suzanne (Ply), he was raised in New York City. After marrying, he moved to Grenada Place in Massapequa and lived there for 30 years.
