The following is a summary of actions taken by the Massapequa Board of Education at its regularly scheduled meeting on Oct. 16.

Presentation from NY State Senator Charles Fuschillo of a $250,000 grant for Alternative Energy & Solar-Powered initiatives in the district. The Board of Education received the following reports: •Superintendent's Report - Mr. Sulc •Elementary Summer Stars Program -Mrs. Steinhauer •Security Measure Update - Mr. Adcock The Board of Education acted on a variety of new business, including resolutions to: •Accept the Procedures of the Board of Education as discussed. •Accept a donation from the New York Mets of field equipment. •Appoint KLH Fire Safety Consultants to conduct the annual visual inspection of the School District Facilities as required by State Education Department regulations.
