Pequa SEPTA conducts general membership meeting

Massapequa Special Education Parent Teacher Association (SEPTA) will host its general membership meeting on Mon. Nov. 10, 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the McKenna Senior Center at McKenna Elementary School, Spruce Street, Massapequa Park. All parents, grandparents, caregivers, community members, educators and administrators are encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served.

The featured program is a presentation on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD.) This is a neurobehavioral developmental disorder affecting about 3 to 5 percent of the world's population. It typically presents during childhood, and is characterized by a persistent pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity, as well as forgetfulness, poor impulse control or impulsivity, and distractibility. This presentation will be given by Dr. Kerry Arale and Dr. Dorothy Ahl, two of the school district's psychologists.

Massapequa Special Education Parent Teacher Association (SEPTA) is a support organization serving every family who receives special education services in Massapequa.
