New Island Hospital, in conjunction with Merck Pharmaceuticals, is holding a free diabetes workshop on Mon., Nov. 17, at New Island Hospital ambulatory surgery waiting room starting at 6:30 p.m. Parking is right in front of the lecture area. The workshop includes:

•Find out how to manage your diabetes and plan meals better

•Questions and answers

•Work in groups for a fun, interactive learning experience

•Understand the importance of checking your blood sugar and what your results mean

Being told that you have diabetes can leave you with many questions. This workshop will answer your questions and concerns if you are newly diagnosed or have had diabetes for a long time.
