Theo Hesse: World War II Veteran & Loving Patriarch
Theodore A. Hesse, who spent many years living
in both Massapequa Park and West Babylon, died Oct. 15, 2008. He was 88. Born in Brooklyn, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Hesse lived on Atlantic Avenue in Massapequa Park for 29 years before moving to West Babylon where he resided for more than 27 years. Until his retirement,
he worked as a branch manager in the General Accident Insurance Company, which was located in Brooklyn. According to his wife of 28 years, Maureen, he loved to golf and boat in his spare time.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Hesse leaves behind his children: Robert and his wife Sande of Maryland, and Karen Flatow and her husband Evan of Manhattan. His grandchildren, Sean, Theodore, David, Erinn, Virginia and Elinn; his brother Bert and many nieces and nephews also survive him.
He reposed at the Claude R. Boyd Spencer Funeral Home, Babylon Village, on Oct. 19, 2008. A Religious Service was held on Oct. 20, 2008 at the funeral home, followed by interment in the Long Island National Cemetery at Pinelawn.
