Massapequa Public Schools announced that it has been approved by the NYS Senate Finance Committee to receive a grant from NYS Senator Charles Fuschillo for the installation of Environmentally-Friendly Solar Technology. The Oct. 16 Board of Education Meeting included a presentation from Senator Fuschillo announcing the $250,000 grant for Alternative Energy and Solar Powered initiatives in the district. This funding will help reduce the district's carbon footprint as well as demonstrate to the students the various options of alternative energy.
