PLEASE TAKE NOTICE
that a Special School District
Meeting of the Farmingdale
Union Free School
District, Nassau and Suffolk
Counties, New York
will be held on December 8,
2008 (the "Election Date")
at 6:00 o'clock A.M., at
the Gymnasium of Weldon
E. Howitt Middle School,
50 Van Cott Avenue, in
Farmingdale, New York, at
which the polls will be kept
open between the hours of
6:00 o'clock A.M. and 9:00
o'clock P.M., Prevailing
Time, for the purpose of
voting by voting machine
upon the following proposition:
PROPOSITION
Shall the following resolution
be adopted, to-wit:
RESOLVED, shall the
Farmingdale Union Free
School District, Nassau
and Suffolk Counties,
New York, be authorized
to purchase and install an
all purpose synthetic turf
field at Farmingdale High
School, including site and
incidental improvements
and expenses in connection
therewith, at a maximum
estimated cost of $800,000,
and that special aid grant
of $660,000 and $140,000
general fund grant in aid
monies shall be used to pay
said cost in full, and that no
portion of the cost shall be
raised by the levy of a tax
upon the taxable property
of said School District.

FURTHER GIVEN that
due to space constraints on
the voting machines, the
Proposition may be presented
in substantially the
following abbreviated form
on the ballot labels of the
voting machines used at
such School District Meeting:

Shall the following resolution
be adopted, to-wit:
RESOLVED, that the Board
of Education of the Farmingdale
Union Free School
District, Nassau and Suffolk
Counties, New York,
is hereby authorized to purchase
and install a new synthetic
turf field at the high
school, including incidental
improvements and expenses
at a maximum estimated
cost of $800,000, and that
special aid grant of $660,00
and $140,000 general fund
grant in aid monies will be
used to pay the cost thereof,
with no increase in the levy
of a tax upon the taxable
property of said School
District therefore.
In the event that an abbreviated
version of a proposition
is necessary due to
space constraints on the
voting machines, a copy of
the full text of the Proposition
shall be on file in the
office of the School District
Clerk, located at the
Administrative Offices,
where the same is available
for inspection by any interested
person during regular
business hours and shall be
posted at the voting location.
SEQRA DETERMINATION:
The capital construction
projects herein
authorized has been determined
to be an "Unlisted
Action" pursuant to the
regulations of the New
York State Department of
Environmental Conservation
promulgated pursuant
to the State Environmental
Quality Review Act ("SEQRA"),
the implementation
of which as proposed, it has
been determined will not
result in any significant environmental
impacts. The
School District has acted
as lead agency under the
State Environmental Quality
Review Act regulations
of the State of New York.
The SEQRA materials are
on file in the Office of the
School District Clerk and
available for public inspection
during regular business
hours.
PERSONAL REGISTRATION:
NOTICE IS ALSO
HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant
to Section 2014 of the
Educational Law, personal
registration of voters is required,
and no person shall
be entitled to vote at said
meeting whose name does
not appear on the register of
said School District or who
does not register as hereinafter
provided, except a
person who is otherwise
qualified to vote and is registered
under the provisions
of Article 5 of the Election
Law. The Board of
Registration shall prepare
a register for said Special
District Meeting, except
that the register prepared at
the last annual meeting or
election shall be used as the
basis therefore and shall include
all persons who shall
have presented themselves
personally for registration
thereat and also all persons
who shall have been previously
registered hereunder
for any annual or special
district meeting or election
and who shall have voted
at any annual or special
district meeting or election
held or conducted at any
time within four years prior
to the preparation of said
register.
NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY
GIVEN that the Board
of Registration will meet at
the District Office, 50 Van
Cott Avenue, Farmingdale,
New York in said District,
on Monday, November 17,
2008, from 12:00 o'clock
P.M., to 9:00 o'clock P.M.,
(Prevailing Time), for the
purpose of preparing a register
of the qualified voters
of the District for said
Special District Meeting,
at which time any person
shall be entitled to have his/
her name placed upon such
register, provided that at
such meeting of the Board
of Registration he/she is
known or proven to the satisfaction
of such Board of
Registration to be then or
thereafter entitled to vote at
said Special District Meeting.
The register prepared pursuant
to Section 2014 of
the Education Law shall

meeting, between the
hours of 9:00 o'clock A.M.

ABSENTEE BALLOTS:

for absentee ballots
may be applied for at the
office of the School District
Clerk commencing 30
days prior to the date of this
Special Election. Any such
application must be received
by the District Clerk
at least seven days before
the date of the aforesaid
Special District Meeting if
the ballot is to be mailed to
the voter, or the day before
such Special District Meeting,
if the ballot is to be
delivered personally to the
voter. A list of all persons
to whom absentee voter's
ballots shall have been issued
shall be available for
public inspection in the office

Clerk not less than five
days prior to the date of the
Special District Meeting
(excluding Saturdays and
