Shown in the photo is Melanie Doerner and friends making ornaments. The monthly meeting of The Amityville Woman's Club was held Nov. 11 at the Unqua Corinthian Yacht Club. President Mary Ann Cost welcomed everyone noting that it was Veteran's Day and that the group was having its Thanksgiving meal. Grace was said by Barbara Lozier and Ellen Ricciuti led the Pledge of Allegiance.

The chair of the philanthropies committee, Marilyn Brous, announced that for the raffle she had acquired two tickets to the Long Island Philharmonic. Ellen Ricciuti reminded everyone of the coming Junior League Holiday House Tour, where a number of members will assist throughout the day. The club had adopted a family for Thanksgiving and donations were made to insure a joyous occasion for them.

Terri Smith, assisted by Margo Moore, Ellen Ricciuti and Ann Tringo, showed everyone how to use pictures to create a personalized Christmas ornament.
