Jewish center hosts presentation and film The Bellmore Jewish Center Hazak and Sisterhood Sponsor The David Project. The community is invited to attend a presentation and film by The David Project on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 7:30 p.m. at the Bellmore Jewish Center, 2550 South Centre Ave., Bellmore. The mission of the David Project is to promote a fair and honest understanding of the Arab-Israeli conflict through presentations in communities and on college campuses and in high schoos. It teaches effective strategies and techniques for combating anti-Semitism and for advocating for Israel. The presentation includes a screening of the ground-breaking documentary The Forgotten Refugees, which explores the history and destruction of Middle Eastern Jewish communities in the second half of the 20th century.
