F'dale HS students conduct toy and clothing drive

The Farmingdale High School Shared Decision Making Committee and its members conducted a used clothing and toy collection for several weeks, culminating on Dec. 14. Students have donated goods to USA Fashion Republic, a non-profit organization based within the New York City Metropolitan area.

This small company specializes in processing used clothing and shipping it to people in third-world countries. Clothing will go to such places as Poland, Ghana, Liberia, Honduras, Nicaragua, Chile, Haiti and India. The clothes are then sold at local markets and thrift stores at low, affordable prices.

Currently, Farmingdale High School is actively holding a clothing drive to benefit this organization and to help those in need. Students are asked to donate clothes and toys. Items can be dropped off in a tied plastic bag in the high school main office, 150 Lincoln Street, Farmingdale.
