Rick Greenfield: North Massapequan and Plainedge Scout Leader
Born in Brooklyn and raised in the Bronx, he lived on North Wisconsin Avenue in North Massapequa with his family for more than 40 years. In the Hicksville School District, he taught at the Lee Avenue Elementary School, was a guidance counselor and assistant principal at the junior high school and after more than 38 years retired as Director of Vocational and Occupational Studies. Mr. Greenfield, an Eagle Scout, was active with scouting when his son was in the Plainedge school district. In 1997, he retired to Florida where he spent his time gardening, reading, listening to music and watching sports. "Although he did so much, my dad would say his biggest accom- plishment was his family," said his daughter, Lisa. Mr. Greenfield leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Connee; his children: Lisa and her husband Melvin Fults of Hendersonville, Tennessee; Clayton and his wife Kim of Hendersonville, Tennessee, and Alison and her husband Frank Vivolo of North Massapequa. His grandchildren: Emily, Rocco, Bailee, Daniel, Bradley and Olivia also survive him. A private service was held in Florida. Condolences can be emailed to his family at greenfieldfamily1@gmail.com.
