Local Judo athletes compete in Empire State Games
Local Judo athletes from Massapequa's Combat Judo Academy competed in the 2007 Empire State Games held this summer in Westchester. Mark Staniszewski repeated his performance from last year earning a gold medal in the men's open division. Maria Didio earned a silver medal in the woman's 63kg division. Chris Manez (90kg) and Michael Mcdermott (100kg), both regional qualifiers, made us proud in their first state-level competition. Also shown are teammates Michael Arcuri, Dan Jackson, William Okura, and Regional Chairman Billy Martin.
