On Nov. 19, Brownie troop 2531 from St. Rose of Lima, Massapequa, came together for its first community service project of the year. Members donated, decorated, and assembled all the ingredients for a Thanksgiving feast, including a gift certificate for a turkey, in a basket to be given to a needy family. They were happy knowing that they took part in making sure a family would have a wonderful meal on Thanksgiving Day!

Nassau Comptroller Howard Weitzman was greeted by members of the Nassau County Village Officials Association, including Massapequa Park Village Mayor James Altadonna, the associations president, at a recent meeting at La Marmite Restaurant in Williston Park. Weitzman spoke to the group about his ideas on how to reduce property taxes in Nassau County.
