Inez Martinez Musco, veteran and loving mother

Longtime North Massapequa resident and devoted homemaker Inez Martinez Musco died December 13, 2007 in West Orange, New Jersey. She was 88 years old and had lived in North Massapequa for 53 years.

Born in Beloit, Wisconsin, she grew up in Brooklyn and lived in St. Albans, Queens before raising her own family on Sheep Pasture Lane in North Massapequa. She recently moved to a New Jersey nursing home to be closer to her family.

Mrs. Musco was a veteran Army Air Corps Sergeant during World War II and was an active parishioner in Maria Regina R.C. Church in North Massapequa. She spent her life caring for her children, husband and home.

"She was a wonderful person. She raised a wonderful son for me and I love her for it," said her daughter-in-law, Penny who added that she was a wonderful Italian cook.

She leaves behind her children: Thomas Guy of Royalston, Massachusetts, Barbara McCarthy of Menlo, Georgia and Joseph Martinez and his wife Penny of Montclair, New Jersey; her grandchildren: Lydia of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, Taj of San Francisco, California and Miriam of Montclair, New Jersey. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph in 1995.

Mrs. Musco reposed at the William Law Funeral Home in Massapequa with religious services held on December 18, 2007. A Military Burial was held in Arlington Cemetery in Virginia on January 8, 2008.
