Evan Torrens, of Massapequa Park, has been awarded approximately $4,800 for the Presidential Scholarship, to attend Alfred State College. Torrens is slated to graduate in 2008 from Farmingdale High School and intends to enroll in the construction management engineering technology program.

Patrick R. Martone, of Massapequa, a sopohomore at Colgate University, has been inducted into the Colgate chapter of the national scholastic honorary society of Phi Eta Sigma which recognized the outstanding academic achievement of firstyear students. Martone is a graduate of Massapequa High School and the son of Patrick R. and Lynn M. Martone.

Jillian Vicinanza, a resident of Massapequa and a student at Hunter College, spent the fall semester of the 2007-2008 academic year studying in Washington, D.C. as a apart of American University's Washington Semester Program in peace and conflict resolution.

Tricia Amore, of North Massapequa, was named to the dean's list at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh for the fall 2007 semester.
